Didn't know they made a Panther Edition 2nd Gen!

Ya know,I agree with you! I would roll in it like that! And a Panther edition...really now?

I'd sensor lower it just enough, maybe an inch or so. Nothing more! It woudl be my cruiser or my long trip car! Take it cross country! I bet that car would'nt even hicup if you threw a couple thousand mile trip on it's odometer in the next week. That car is REALLY CLEAN!

Break out the Geritol and Metamucil. That roof looks like a bald man with a really bad toupee.

Truth be told I would buy that car.... only to show up at my father's door step & hand him the keys! He's fallen in love with these cars & I know he would love this Panther Edition! He digs those leather roofs! Then again My father is 58! Getting close to his retirement years!

That's more like it. It is a clean car and it's nice you would buy your Dad a car.

Come to think of it, the '93 may be nice for your Dad. Clean it up and put some chrome 10 spokes on it. It does have the top that doesn't look too bad on that car.

I'm 51, and I hated vinyl roofs back in the 70s! I mean, I never grasped the underlying principle. Was that a sad attempt to make the car look like a convertible? Always made me think of those old slab-sided Country Squire station wagons with the wood-grain vinyl on the sides.
And if not, why not do the WHOLE CAR in vinyl!

Now *that* I could get into. Coarse, pebble-grained vinyl, make it look like a reptile. That'd be cool on a Mark VIII, with its lizard-looking "eyes" up front.

That said, I think it's awesome that you're buying the car for your Dad. May he enjoy it for many years to come. :)

I'm 31 & I'm joining the AARP when I buy this car!:D lmao!!!

Hey now lol. AARP member checking in :) A lot of great benefits being a member! I have AARP towing - just like AAA towing, but a lot cheaper ;)

I would do the same but my Pops would say he couldn't drive it.It's too nice and he would be worried about someone scratching it.He is now 71 and he and my Mom could sure use a nice ride. Not a M8 though, maybe a Town Car.That way I wouldn't have to worry about them using 87 octane.

What would the "Panther Edition" consist of?

You're lucky your Dad listened to you.I have explained to my Pops too many times and sometimes he will listen and other times he will just argue about it.Saying that there is no difference. Not only have I explained it but so has our neighbor and all it does is go over his head.

If he does drive the Mark it is very seldom. But if he fills it up all he does is look at the prices and that is it.I really have to make sure he does put the good stuff.

Like I have said.I am sure glad I will be driving the car on my own soon.

I'm an old man at heart (and when i wake up in the morning) and I would buy it if I lived in FL again and it would never leave the state. That car would be trailered for any long distance. That thing deserves a nice garage and someone who actually likes the top...lol

I had a 97 with in black with a black fabric convertible style top. It was my first Mark and i actually liked it.
