On a gen 2 when you have your wipers on your headlights automatically come on. I sure didnt. Ive had at least one mark viii since 02 and i am still learning things about them. crazy......
 
You can turn that feature off on the display panel.
 
That's a good idea. Here in Missouri there is now a law that says if your wipers are on, your headlights have to be on. It would be a useful thing to have on a Gen 1.
 
I am going to see if we can set some rules on who can own a Gen 2 and who has to stay with a Gen 1 !!!:D

If it makes you feel better Chris, I'm in the same boat.

I'm a long time Gen 1 owner, with a relitivley recent Gen2 purchase.

Gen 2's are great, but I turn off most of those special Gen 2 features.

What's with that reverse gear/tilt the side mirror down gimmick?:D

I used to be able to adjust everything on the radio without looking at it. Not anymore.:)

One of these days I'm going to break the multifunction switch right off, one of these cars. Why would they change which way you push/pull it for the high beams?:D
 
Something I noticed about the wipers with headlights on feature. If you turn on your wipers during the day, the headlights go on however the dash dimming feature does not come on. So even though your lights go on, your dash lights and displays won't dim which I thought was a good idea.
