Correct me if I'm wrong 1996 is the only year that the special edition mark viii was made. Also the way to differentiate between a diamond anniversary and a base 1996 is by looking at the seats. Diamond anniversary seats have a colored stripe running across the middle of the seat correct? I was wondering why is that every 1996 I see is labeled a diamond anniversary?

They were only made in 1996 hence the "diamond anniversary" for lincolns 75th model year. They only made them in either cordovan red or silver, and all had the graphite grey interior with the cordovan red inserts, also another dead giveway that its not an DA is if there is no "diamond anniversary" script etched in the 1/4 windows. And I assume people try passing regular 96 mark viiis off as diamond anniversarys because its a 96 and they probably think they all are DAs...just like all dealers call 97 cougars 30th anniversarys when there was really only a specific package called the 30th anniversary..or people who think all 1st gen mark viiis are LSCs since the original window sticker says its a "luxury sport coupe" when we all know there was an LSC package that differed from base marks...here's a little blurb about DAs I found..interesting that it says there may have been a few diamond anniversary LSCs made..which if true would be a very very rare mark viii if its still around..
