I just replaced thermostat after a over heat the other day. Bleed system and stayed cool, but coolant keep getting low. I looked under car and good stream dripping behind left front tire. Thinking degas bottle leaking, just replaced a couple a years ago they crack that soon. What is your thoughts.....Also had a no or low heat problem the last few days, seem to get worse over time, from getting heat after running temp up and down to no heat. I realize low coolant will cause it, just wondering if DCCV could be causing or related to other. thanks

If it is cracked, you have air in the system causing no heat.. I don't think the DCCV has a problem here.. Can you visibly see a crack or were the leak is? Most likely cracked

Have not took bottle off yet. The last time I replaced the degas bottle didn't see no cracks till i took off car. They were hidden while it was on vehicle. Is this normal for it to crack again , hasn't been but a couple of years when i replaced it. Are the Dorman at rockauto any better than the oem. It pretty much seems to be the bottle again....what your opinion

I have not had one fail yet but that seems to be the only thing cooling related in that area.. They do crack abnormally often.. Most likely.. Take it off real quick and inspect it.. I assume so though..

I have not had experience with their products so I can't add input to the quality..

Which manuf of the bottle did you use?
By "happy" circumstance, I had a brand new Motorcraft and brand new Doorman side-by-side. The Doorman is clearly a much thinner plastic. I chose to install the Motorcraft. Sounds plausible - not terribly likely - that it could crack again. Especially if you've overheated the engine significantly, as you'll get more heat and pressure into the system, further weakening the plastic.
Definitely check all your hoses and other parts to be sure, though.

Hey, he only *implied* that he used the Motorcraft!

Yeah, should probably read more carefully next time.

the T-Stat has a two part assembly. make sure the up and down are clear.
