Okay just got back from the dealership for my check engine light finally decided to go...lol. But anyways as expected one my cats was clogged so warranty covering that. There is a 120,000km warranty cats. But they told me i also need a Ego sensor but thats not covered. Isn't the whole emission package covered? Or just the cats. Car has 103,000km's. The part is $240 but obviously im going to get from the staets for way cheaper prolly. Just wondering if its covered or not.... thanks.

Oxygen sensors are considered wear items. Don't think you're gonna get them to cover that.

You'd better be sure to figure out which one needs to be replaced. You've got four (two upstream, two downstream; just found a good illustration in my manual; downstream is actually in the cat itself). The thing here is, the two upstream sensors are not "emissions" components ; they are for adjusting the fuel curve (even though the fuel curve is directly related to the emissions). The downstream sensors are emissions components because they monitor the performance of the cats. I'm not seeing separate part numbers, which leads me to believe they are interchangeable (even though typically they are not; verify this through a parts store). Anyhow, depending how many needed to be replaced, that may not be a bad deal. They usually run in the ball park of $40-$60; so if they quoted you for all four... it could be able the right price.
Anyhow, the "emissions" warranty only actually covers the catalysts.

FWIW, it's HEGO, not ego. It stands for Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen sensor.
Edit: I guess they could be leaving off the Heated part...
Also, the Federal Emissions Warranty covers more than the catalysts, but if you're not measuring in miles, I'm guessing you're in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and US Emissions warranties probably don't apply.
Interestingly, the list of parts covered by the Federal Emissions Warranty does include the "Air/Fuel Feedback Control System and Sensors," which sounds to me like it does include the HEGO sensors. That may not help you, but it does give you something to pursue...

Hi The O2's are the same for the V-6 and V-8 so the numbers and pricing is....
5C5Z-9F472-AA frt sensors list $106.62 LVC cost $62.37 each
5W6Z-9G444-BA rear (cat monitors) list $99.49 LVC cost $53.72 each
plus shipping (duty,gst etc due on your end)
all are HEGO's.

They are NOT all the same. see posting above. Maybe they told you the price they would charge you for them would be the same regardless which you bought. They are fairly close....they will most likely charge you the higher price...I bet!!
