Hello,

I picked up a 2003 Lincoln LS Premium a little over 2 months ago. Got the car with 66k and now I'm a little over 70k. My question is, is there a FORD dealer parts warranty that stays with the car despite the owner? I'm the third owner and I figured FORD has a something like "X amount of years or X amount of miles" on certain parts. I'll probably contact a dealership to ask some questions but I was curious about what you all think. Have a good rest of the weekend, guys

Not true. The factory warranty transfers no matter how many times the car is sold.

Unfortunately for the OP, that 2003, 66K mile LS is over the time/miles limits for all of the factory warranties except for one. (I am assuming that it was first sold in 2002 or 2003.)

It is still in warranty for coils and valve cover gaskets until 100K miles or 10 years from the first sold date.

If the OP bought it from a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer as a Ford certified used car, then the OP also has a limited (very limited) time warranty to cover most mechanical issues.

Should have mentioned the fact that I purchased it from a small used lot. But if i bring it to a Ford Dealer they could possibly replace all the coils for me? It is starting to idle just a little rough at times and I'm almost positive the the coils that need to be replaced.

No, unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

They will do a "stress test" of all of the coils. Any of them that fail, they will replace. They will not replace the ones that aren't failing yet. If there is any oil in the plug wells, they will replace the valve cover gaskets on that side. If there is any evidence that water has been in the plug wells, there is another gasket that they will replace. (Gasket replacement is covered for the 2003 model only.)

If none of the coils fail the stress test, you will be charged the $100 to $200 diagnostic fee.

You seem to know exactly what you are talkin' about Joe. Do you work for a dealership or just extremely knowledgeable? Thanks for the info, man.
