I unfortunately fell victim to a failed dccv, the car was fine in the morning but later on it was blowing fire. It seems this is a common part to fail although i think i had another issue that contributed. On the upper radiator hose there is the plastic "t" built in which runs a hose down to the dccv. This plastic piece developed a pin size crack/hole which would dribble coolant out the top and down on top of the dccv and its wiring, one of the solenoids shorted. I've read that others have had this plastic insert develop a leak. Anyway, i have a new upper hose and dccv on its way. I plan on doing the repair this weekend, thought maybe i'd document the repair for a "how-to" write up. I dont think there is one for this part and its bound to happen to most LS's as they age. Dealers want $1000+ for this repair when it can be done in your driveway for around $150. Basic hand tools are all thats needed and some pretty basic skills. Give me some feedback regarding whether i should document the repair to post on here.
