Woooo Hooooo.......the 'Barney Mobile' ran 15.507 with a terrible reaction time. My first run was 15.941 with a reaction time of .702, but the 15.507 had a reaction time of 1.115 (HORRIBLE!!!!!!!). I have the time slips and a video of my last (second) run. The time slips will be posted in the track times forum.

How heavy was the trailer you were pulling? LMAO. 15.9??? Time for some serious Mods.

On that 1.1 pole, were you waiting for a green color the same as your new ride?

What was your mph? 91....

rough day huh............... My wife says she will race you in he escort wagon.

The first run I let the tranny shift itself......hence the 15.941 and crossed the finish line at 90.52MPH.

The second run 15.507 I shifted myself and started in first and did not shift out of second before the finish line.....15.507 and crossed the finish line at 89.48MPH.

:N :N It was freakin 89 deg there, and 130 on the track......and I was running stock 225/60/16 inch Michelin XGV4's (VERY crappy tires for the drag strip). I wanted to see what it would do with normal everyday tires on it. I did not go with the Nitto's on because there is almost NO tread left on them, so there would be NO hook up at all.

Mods to follow........
:steering

Oh good...... I was thinking you had the track guys just push you down the lane instead of actually starting the car. With the price of gas an all, I thought you might be conserving fuel, cause I KNOW you can get much better times.

:Bang

I am sure that if I had drag radials on it, it would have been a bit faster....maybe closer to 15 sec. Now, the AssassinVIIIor is a pretty quick car......with the SAME tires that I have on the 'Barney Mobile'......I ran a best of 14.443. Now, the AssassinVIIIor had the exhaust done already, but it had like 120+K on the odometer and it ran on regular street tires in the stock fitment size.

The 'Barney Mobile' is totally stock......the ONLY go fast mod is a K&N airfilter (and not like that is a real go fast part...... .00000001 second faster with it.....LOL). I wanted some baseline runs before I do ANY kind of mods to the car. 15.507 is not that bad for a bone stock 150+K mileage Mark VIII. Look as some ppls times......15.8 and such with less mileage than I have on the car. I am going to do upgrades and then take it to the track.....one at a time. I think the exhaust is next.....then off to the track....so on and so forth. :Beer

sounds like a great plan actually, see what each mod actually gives you

only thing is, some mods have greater or lessor effect due to a previous mod. SImple example, you can put $500 wires on, but if your plugs are garbage, the wires dont do much.

Yeah you were sleeping at the tree but that doesn't affect your times at all, neither does the fact that your drag radials were low on tread. The only reason they have tread on them at all is to make them DOT legal.

Slicks have a bigger cotact patch because of the absence of tread as well as a different compound for better off the line traction, as opposed to lateral, or wet traction whcih is what DOT tires are rated for...

You should have been able to get some good times with a little experimentation, but I will agree with you that the Michelin XGTs suck for off the line traction. The funny thing is that I've run 2.1s on normal 235 55 R 16s..

No Geno, THIS is sleeping at the tree.LOL.
"15.507 had a reaction time of 1.115" See Ray's top post above.

That's kind of like sitting at the light with your blinker on and the guy behind you honks because the arrow light is green.
