Hey everyone,

I have a question about the removal of the dash on a 95 LSC. To get to the heater core do you have to pull the whole dash out or can you just pull it out enough to access the heater core?

Thanks

Is your 95 LSC for sale? I've never seen one before.:D

On a serious note, you should be able to pull it out far enough without complete removal. follow the steps for dash removal under "tech articles" and "blend door actuator replacement". It's based on a 97-98, but it will steer you in the right direction.

Steaming windows leaking antifreeze in the passenger side of the floor board. Man the list goes on and on.

Yeah, bad heater core. I suggest you contact Jaime for pitfalls.

Now that you say that, it does sound like what it is and it is time consuming. I have never done one but have seen a few others on here that have. It's just not often that one will go bad unless you're close to the 200,000 mile mark or more. Also, the cooling system may have not been maintained very well early in it's life.

I would do like marked8 mentioned and wait for Jamie to give you the easiest route for fixing it or someone else on here that has. One person on here did mention something about putting his center console back in because of a heater core. No clue why but there must have been a reason I suppose. This was within the last week or so.

Yes, I am getting close to 200,000 and I am not selling, I love the car but not the headace. I have done or had done just about everything except change the engine. I have read the TOCCA thread and the Blend door artical and the TOCCA artical removes the whole dash to get to the heater core.
If I don't have to remove the whole dash to get the heater core that would make my day but if it is a game time decision then I am down for whatever.

That heater core is a PITA! I had it done on my 93. I just paid to have it done. I really didn't want to mess with it. Not for the faint of heart. :shifty:

I hear you GMAN, I just got a quote today for $900 big ones. You know what they say. Money is a great motivator.
