"Apply Parking Brake" "Service Parking Brake" I hate those chimes.

I fixed my DCCV which could have been causing the braking brake issues cause of "noise".

Since I fixed the DCCV,. the chimes have become more frequent.

I do remember when I first bought the car I had to take it to the dealers mechanic to have it fixed. I forget what the problem was, but it had something to do with a part on the rear axle or transmission. And after about a year this issue came up again. So looking back on it it might not have been DCCV noise.

Maybe they didn't really fix anything or has the part gone bad again.

Any idea what this part could be? Maybe the parking brake control switch?

I intermittently get the service park brake message. It is totally random but I think someone once said on here it has something to do with a mechanical part being read as failed etc. Because although it says service the brake, the brake still works as it should.

There is a TSB for the 2004 LS that says to replace the Electronic Parking Brake module if "Service Parking Brake" comes up when there is no real fault.

I have found that a weak battery can also cause the messages. You might also check the main power and ground connections to make sure they are clean and tight.

Also, check for an actual mechanical problem. The four main ones would be rear brake pads too thin, rear caliper piston adjust feature faulty or pads mis-installed, the plastic pieces at the ends of the parking brake cables being broke, the parking brake cables being corroded and sticking.

I saw it once before.

I applied the brake and it went away.

When it says to "apply park brake" I do and nothing happens, but when the lights not on it works fine.

A broken switch is also possible. You might want to pull the part of the center console out that has the parking brake switch (just put up). Look at the parking brake switch. Sometimes the plastic breaks where the switch hinges at.

Will check. I've been meaning to take the console off to do some cleaning and take off a metal bracket from the previous owner.

Any diagrams for doing this?

Just grab inside the cup holders and pull straight up. There are clips at each corner that hold it down. You may have to pry a little bit at one or more of the corners.

If you are wanting to take the whole thing out, it's pretty straight forward.
This is from memory, so forgive me if I leave something out.
Remove the trim around the ash tray.
Remove the ash tray. Then you can get to the bolts in the front that hold the whole assembly in.
Remove the cup holder assembly.
Remove the compartment lid by removing the hinge.
There's a plastic plug inside the compartment, then remove the compartment.
After that, you should be able to find the rest of the bolts.
