CV joint, wheel bearing, or just a mystery?

Not until 2 weeks ago I noticed a clicking sound coming from my rear drivers wheel. It sounds like a thin metal tab being bent and sprung back. As far as the overall feeling of the car, I haven't noticed any difference in handling. Can you give me some ideas as to what it could be or ways to narrow it down? Thanks!

could be rubbing heat shield, a dragging brake caliper, a bad cv joint, etc.
jack up the car and spin the wheel.

I tracked a noise on the left rear wheel of my '94 for a while. Turns out a couple of the tabs on the center cover were slightly bent and it wasn't tight. Straightened them, and no noise since.
