Would anyone be interested in custom fitted projector headlights for the 1st generation LS?

Basically, I would take a set of new headlights, take them apart, remove the stock halogen low beam bulbs, and place in a bi-xenon Morimoto Mini projector in each. Shrouds would be installed to maximize the visual appearance. Also, quality Morimoto 35W digital ballasts would be used, alongside an appropriate harness. I would use quality 4300K/5000K Morimoto bulbs as well.

Also, check THIS out for some excellent photos, and end results. The projectors I would use are smaller, so the job wouldn't be as messy, at the cost of slightly lesser light output. It would still outperform any halogen lights though.

Love the light output, but not the look. I like the look of the big reflector bowl on the ls. Those little circles dont do it for me. I did however retro fit some projectors into my fog lights and it looks pretty sick, until I ran over the wires after messing with them when they were done. I will retro fit them onto the lse bumper this summer. The projectors I used are the perfect size for the lse hole.

Oh and that guy did an excellent job on those. That light output is CRAZY! Took him a good time to do though.

So it's a service you will be providing? Since you have a gen2 not gen1

hey alax, dont kill me, but send me a link to that thread about the projector lamps u used for the fog lights...

More or less. I am trying to stay away from the "send your light in, and i'll retro it" idea of things though as I don't always have the time. Basically, if someone shows real interest, ill do a single retro for that one person. If there are multiple people interested, more units will be made.

I'd gladly do Gen 2s as well, however availability and price would be an issue. Gen 1 lights go for ~$100/ea on eBay, whereas Gen 2s cost almost 3x as much in some cases.

If I make any profit from the first unit, I will retro my own lights.

From what I've picked up here, you prob wont get any takers even if there is interest, until you show them you can do it and show pics and all. Maybe then someone will commit, but I doubt any body will pay for you to "pratice" on their set. You'll prob have to do yours first and then more interest will arrise, although this kit seems easier to install on gen1 headlights.

Of course, that's why I would buy new headlights, and since Gen 1s are fairly cheap, that wouldn't be a problem.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. Those retro solution projectors just "screw" on to the reflector bowl. Might be easier to go that route. Those are the ones I used for my fog retro fit

Those provide rather poor light output, especially given the price. Where's the fun in that anyway?

Yeah, compared to other projectors they do, but they still give better than halogen reflectors. Those are just easy to put on for those who want to take that route
