Looks like some kind of stainless mesh, I've been thinking about doing that to mine...

Those snowflakes look pretty decent painted black, but I don't really like snowflakes on Gen 2's.

i would have to agree, I really don't like the snowflakes period, especially on the gen 2's.....they look too dated

The gen 1 can pull them off imho because of the smaller front end... it make the car look smaller and smaller skinnier wheels look ok. The Gen 2 with the fat nose needs bigger fuller tires and wheels to make it look right.
