Custom Grill...

Hey I was also wondering... do you guys know of anyone that can make a mesh grill for our mark viii's?... I saw someone with a photoshopped one and it looked awesome!!... but every place I've tried around here in Denver wants like 500 for a grill!!... I figure if anything I could try making it myself... I saw a site where you can order the mesh... has anyone tried that out?... is it hard?... doesn't look like it would be impossible... I'd go try to find a junked one at a salvage yard and use it as a template... but any imput would be great...

Gen 1 or Gen 2?

I made my own for my Gen 1, but never finished it. From my experience, a 2 piece would work best, with some sort of plastic surround and down the middle between the 2 pieces..

it's a gen2... I'm thinking just a black mesh... but it's all one piece so I don't know if I'd wanna make it two pieces... Hmmmm

Paint the mesh body color and it might look good. I saw a red gen 2 with a silver mesh grille, it looked terrible, just because there was 3 acres of silver mesh on the front of the car...

3 acres!! LMAO!! Thats great!! Those are a bit toothy lookin unpainted.

My first mark has a busted grille, I was going to get rid of all the inner spokes, install a fine mesh and paint it body color. With the Lincoln star on the front.

yeah that's what I was thinking... finding a crap one in a salvage yard or on ebay if I'm lucky... I found this site that'll send you a sample pack of all their meshes for like 5 bucks and you can get trim samples for 1.50 more... http://www.customcargrills.com/ I was thinking a black mesh with the emblem in the center like the one in the pic... I might be able to take a tool and bend it all around and use clips to fasten it to the trim... I don't think I'd have the trim as light as in the pic though... what do you guys think?
