Well, it is fixed for now.
I pulled the engine cover off and replaced the coil.
There was just a hit of oil in the bottom of the hole, but it was not enough to have effected anything I mean it did not even come up to hex on the spark plug.
But I tell you even the aftermarket wants to rape us. I had my friend at the parts counter order a mustang coil from the local warehouse so I could look one over and see how hard it would be to make them work in the v6. Unfortunately the one in the box was not the correct coil.
But what really got me was price difference for the two coils.
One coil for a 99-04 cobra had a counter price of 24.95.
One coil for a 99-02 mustang gt (don't what was up with the years here 99-04 are all the same) had a counter price of 28.95.
One coil for the 02 lincoln ls had a counter price of 65.81.
WTF, If I did not already get the 'friends and family' pricing plan at this store (the coil only cost me 32.60), I think I would have gone nuts.
