I owned a mobile wheel repair company that specialized in curb damage restorations. If any of you need tips, tool list, or paint codes let me know. I mainly repaired wheels at high end dealerships like BMW, MB, Ferrari, Maserati and Galpin Ford's premier collection.

Repairing curb damaged painted aluminum alloy wheels is not that hard to do if you have the right tools and patience. In a week or so I will give you guys a complete step by step write up for on vehicle curb damage repair. For all those who are in doubt let me spread a little light on the subject. The next time you go to a dealership take a look at the certified pre owned cars with painted wheels. Chances are if you look close enough...the wheels were refurbed on vehicle on site.

I did not even know that was possible, looks like a good talent to have. I know I got some 17” in my garage that could use a little curb rash reduction.

Most of those wheel repairs I've seen look shotty and obviously repaired, a friend of mine bought a g35 from a dealer years back that had two or three curbed rims, the dealer said they would take care of it and had one of those mobile companies come out and fix them..looks like they just ground down the curb rash and threw on some filler and repainted half the wheel..which didn't match the original finish of the wheel. Same with another friend who leased a brand new audi, one wheel had a gouge in one of the spokes so they said they would "repair" it. Turned out looking like ass, the paint was dry and looked dull compared to the original finish. Its one thing if its just a used average car but I surely wouldn't repair a ferrari rim..if you can afford a car like that, you can afford a new wheel. Not saying you don't do good work but most I've seen don't take their time repairing it the right way, they just slap some paint on it to get in and get out of the dealer.

I have a rare bent wheel that needs to be straightened out bad...but I have to drive the truck everyday right now.

I think they quoted me about 120 to fix/repair/weld if broken.

give TMACK his due if he is willing to share secrets it is up to the person doing the work to get the results. If T was making a living doing this then more power to him. A lot of people look down at someone willing to get down and dirty to do a job but then willing to take what was earned very fast. will be watching T.

I know what you mean by seeing shotty repairs. I have been called out on more than one occasion to correct them. That G35 more than likely had that weird gun metal colored wheel which is a difficult color to match...unless you take a G35 wheel to a paint supplier and have them match it. I did that and had to shoot it over black to get the correct tone. One would think that high end car owners/dealerships would buy a new wheel but it's business so if it can be repaired...they do it. I did get to drive some cool cars though.

BTW I repaired the wheels on this S7 @ Galpin Ford. This is the actual car used in Bruce Almighty.

Right on, is nice to see guys that actually love their job and take pride in their work..some I wonder why they chose their profession, cause you can tell by their work they just don't care. Just had bad experiences with mobile auto paint repair like "carnica" if you have them in your area...also I wonder who the hell they let drive some of these high end exotics?? You'd think they'd be extra careful when having someone test drive it as to not put the thing into a curb. A friend of mine works for a local chevy dealer and they had one of the first ZR1s in the area..they let some idiot take it out for a drive and he ripped it around a corner, lost control and smashed the curb, destroyed the wheel, bent a bunch of sh*t in the suspension and cracked two of the carbon fiber ground effects..turned out to be over $15k worth of damage that the dealer ate the cost of..
