back again. i had gave up on my cruise after paying the dealership (they are no longer in business) 150 to tell me the cruise module was bad. after replacing it with 3 different ones and having the same issues i gave up. the dealership told me the clockspring was not the issue. fast forward approx. a year and my airbag light came on. after checking out the wiring under the seat and the radio decided to adjust the volume to whatever level it decided. needless to say i purchased a new clockspring. i just replaced it a couple hours ago. airbag light is gone and the radio works great. during the test drive i tried the cruise. all the buttons seem to work properly except that i still have no cruise. i even tried replacing the cruise module with one of the spares i had purchased. it still does not work.
now for the questions. what next? the clockspring and cruise control module have been ruled out. i assume the brake switch is ok since it turns the cruise light out when depressed. the only other thing i can think of is the speed sensor?
ps. i am getting really fast at swapping out the control module!
