Crossmember bushing - $2700 total - possible solution found

So the LS is pretty much dead - by bushings. What a joke. Dealer said i need the whole crossmember and new ebrake cable too.

Anyone know if there is another cars bushings that can be trimmed to fit?

I'd imagine the thunderbird or s-type bushings would work, but would probably cost the same.

I'd start measuring and looking into Energy Suspension parts.

The last time I found it necessary to procure such 'cushions', (for the installation of a Volare front sub-frame in my '63 F-`100 ICB) I used hockey pucks. Worked like a charm.

Is this the bushing that has the supposed "pop" when you take off from a stop?

yeah, thats what mine did, especially in reverse. Iits gotten so bad that the whole thing rattles aginst the heat shield and should like the cars draging itself. They have both failed.
