K guys... need some ideas
A while ago my steering wheel buttons and horn went out and my Air bag light came on..... clock spring right. I have a parts car I picked up a couple months ago i havent sold yet, so being cheap I swapped them out hoping it would fix my problems..... I swapped the clock spring and the box that connects to the bottom off the "steering column"....no problems. started it up, and light came back on... Horn now works but the buttons still dont.... (the cruise buttons are all mixed up... set is off, on is cancel, etc.) I have a aftermarket HU so not sure on the stereo side. so my questions are....
why would the horn work but not the steering buttons, and why light would still be on.... I understand i might be chasing multiple problems, and that the "used" clock spring might be bad also... Anyone have any ideas on what to check?
I'll check the wires under my seat, but IF its only one problem, why that would make my steering buttons not work. the air bag and buttons seemed to be separate systems other that the clock spring itself.
