Is it normal to be getting around 16 mpg in the city? Swear when I first got her she was doing something around 18 to 17 mpg atleast. suggestions?

many different reasons. are you driving it hard then when you first bought it? moddifications? proper oil changes? plugs and coils in good condition. etc etc....

for me my gas mileage sux cause I put in performance mods and went from 16s to 19s but my nig, it's hawt!

these cars weren't meant to be fuel economic. If you can't deal with it..then just STFU and buy a prius or insight :P

edt: fixed that typo

Dont you mean WEREN'T meant to be fuel economic. An actually I think they get pretty good gas mileage considering it's a V8, small V8, but still. Its more than I expected to get.

I get from 15.5 to 18 mpg on the city.

I don't do much driving in mine so since it mostly warming up I only get about 9 or 10 mpg

yep, same way to work dropped from 19avg in summer to 15.3winter. some of it is idle on 2 degree mornings, spinning tires in the snow...but like Tommy said, they up the ethenol or somthing in the winter resulting in 1-2 mpg loss.

You know what's funny, is you could buy a kia AND gas, and park the LS, for 300/month. I've thought about it, but could never drive a kia.

Coming from the guy that bitched about a tail light bulb blowing?! OMG !?
Anyways was just wondering if anyone else was getting worse MPG.. Least I know im not the only one..
And there is no way in hell I could drive a Kia either lol.. not even as a rental I dont think..

Winter gas formulas will drop your MPG by 1 or 2.

ahhh i did not know that! thats some good info right there! and it does explain the small drop in mpg ive experienced. dammn that loss in gas can add up!

unless this is your first winter driving a car, you should be able to remember last winter when your mileage dropped, no matter what type of car you drove.

also, the pressure in your tire drop with the temperature. have you ever heard of STP- Standard Temperature and Pressure?

Google it. Basically it means as temps go down, so do pressures, as temps go up, so do pressures.

you mom's bulb blew, then there was only 1 hi-beam!

I am averaging high 14mph right now. Mostly city driving. It was a little better before the CAI but it's harder to keep my foot out of it now.

I've dropped a bit myself. Average is 20.4 mostly highway and it is usually about 22-23 in the summer. I have to give a little of the fault to letting it just sit and idle longer when it is blistering cold out.

In November I drove from Wichita to Dallas and averaged 25.8 with a sustained speed of 80-85 mph!

f*ck there's nowhere where I can drive that fast around here...already got a ticket last week for doing 68 in a 60

you should use that gauge behind your steering wheel. It tells you how fast you are going....:D

That sucks.

You can get away with going that fast usually since there isn't much going on, on I-135 between here and OKC, and OKC to Dallas. Alot of nothing. ;)
