cow like noise

So I notice my ls 2002 v6 3.0 makes this hallow noice when the i turn it on. People have told me it sounds like a cow. I haven't noticed any performance issues. Any ideas what could it be.

When you turn the key on, when you start the engine, when the engine is running at first? What's a "hallow noice?" (sacred cow sort of thing?) Or if you meant hollow noise, do you mean some sort of echo? I once had a bad IAC make a cow moaning sort of noise on a Grand Marquis.

Had that happen to my boy's Crown Vic with the 4.6 V-8 Joe! Was loud enough people looked at him at a stop like he had blown the horn at them.That BUGGER was pretty hard for me to get to,but I did it. don-ohio

sounds like a hole in the exhaust and a failing pulley off something (alt / power steering etc.)
