Could the fuel filter be my issue?

I have a HUNCH that the old owner of my LS V8 2005, did not do ANY maintenance on this vehicle besides the oil change. Tires were unevenly worn, alignment was off, off balanced, tranny was shifting harsh, crazy clicking sound when slowing down or driving at 0900 rpms'.

So I did everything but the fuel filter. My question is, is the same as the V6? Behind the drivers front tire wheel wall? And I don't remember correctly but what size quick disconnect tools would I need?


LASTLY, could a really old fuel filter at 60,000, make a wierd sound of like a small 4 clicking sounds when slowing down or speeding up?

3. I really don't think so. The symptoms of a clogged filter would be power loss at full engine load. The other thing is that the filter may just start passing dirt instead of clogging. In that case you would be having fuel injector problems.

You wouldn't suppose a fuel injector cleaner additive in the gas tank with a full tank of gas, IE like Seafoam or STP Fuel injector cleaner would solve that fuel injector problem would you?

17 bucks for the filter, change it and go from there
