I've had on again-off-again brake problems recently on my 94 and I've thrown everything at it but the kitchen sink. First off I've rebuilt the entire front end, tie rod ends, upper and lower control arms, strut bushings, wheel bearings, brake lines and calipers. I've also replaced the master cylinder and booster and I thought I had it whipped when I replaced the master cylinder and booster cause the problem seemed to go away but now it has resurfaced and is pissing me off. Not always but sometimes I get a hard pull to the right when I brake usually when I brake hard. One thing I've noticed is when I pull in the garage and am holding my foot on the brake and cut the engine off the brake pedal starts coming up. Could this be a bad booster? Shouldn't the vacuum hold up for more than a few seconds? Would one of you guys try this and tell me if your brake pedal comes up when you cut the engine. I hope its not the booster that was a real PITA. Thanks, Mark

The booster is indeed a pita. But it should not cause a hard break to left or right.

Did you bleed the lines yourself?

Yea I know the booster shouldn't be the culprit but the problem did seem to go away when I replaced it the first time. How about the brake pedal coming up when you shut the engine off-is that the norm? Yea I bled the lines myself, they bled up great.

Ok. If you are sure they bled fine thats cool. I was thinking of a pinched line, clogged ABS module, etc.

Seeing that everything looks new I would consider two things. Re-bleed the lines or check the alignment. Some times new parts can shift a little.

How are the tires though?

tires are new, I'd still like to know about the brake pedal coming up though.

Well if you had a booster leak the car would be running rough. I never played much with my brake booster. So I cant say.

I'm leaning towards a bubble in the ABS system. You need to follow procedures to do the ABS.
