Cops Writing Cops

BS. I guess because they are cops they are above the law. I guess now they know how it feels wanting to be let off, and getting the ticket anyways.

I've had cops let me go with a warning so I'm sure they let other cops go.
The ones who patrol the highways around here are always speeding.
I remember one guy about 50 who would go 90 mph down the road and come up from behind with his rolling radar.
Then he would turn around and go 90 the other way.
Some of them feel it's nessesary for the job.
On the other hand, there was a local cop here who allegedly ticketed his own mother.
Seems like a lot of work to put up a site and the content as a joke.
After the initial amusement the site gets kinda monotonous and boring actually.
But still good for a few laughs.

When you see an emergency vehicle behind you with its lights and sirens on, pull to the RIGHT, and Stop. We are usually required to pass cars on the left.

When you’re driving in the fast lane and you see a cop behind you, don’t go 5 mph under the speed limit. We are not impressed by how safe of a driver you can be, we’re trying to go help someone (or catch that guy in the SUV that just cut you off). Safely move over and let us pass please.

If you get a warning instead of a ticket from a motorcycle cop, go buy a lottery ticket, because you’ve already beaten the odds.

When you see an officer conducting a traffic stop, or with a suspect in handcuffs, it is generally not a good idea to approach him and ask for directions. If you do, don’t expect the officer to be nice when he tells you to get lost, and don’t expect the officer to take the time to explain.

If you think you can fan all the pot smoke out of the car before we smell it, good luck.

We know you’ve had more than 2 beers. When I’ve had two beers, I didn’t hit six parked cars or drive my car through the front doors of a Toys-R-Us, pissed my pants, or passed out at a traffic light.

Here’s how to get out of a ticket. don’t break the law.

If you drive a piece of crap, that is why you’re getting pulled over.

In one week I pulled over 40 cars for minor equipment violations.
12 out of 40 had no vehicle insurance.
7 out of 40 had suspended driver’s licenses.
4 out of 40 had warrants.
1 out of 40 had felony warrants.
1 was a known sex offender with his 12 year old niece in the car
20 were let go with verbal warnings

If you’ve just been pulled over doing 70 in a 35, do not greet the officer with “what seems to be the problem, officer”.

We get coffee breaks too, and sometimes we run into stores and do some shopping during them.

When you’re the victim of a burglary, take the time you spend waiting for the officer to find the model #‘s and the serial #‘s of the stuff that was taken.

Some cops are just jerks, but take heart in the fact that other cops don’t like them either.

If it’s nighttime! and you re driving a vehicle with tinted windows and I pull you over, it’s not because of your skin color. I usually can’t tell if the vehicle even has a driver until the windows rolled down.

Every time you hear on the news about people running away from a crazed gunman, someone’s son or daughter in a police uniform is running TOWARD that crazed gunman.

Yes it’s true, cops usually don’t give other cops tickets. Think of it as an employee discount, perk or benefit. Other Cops are family and you wouldn’t give your brother a ticket if you were a cop either

If your local police agency has a helicopter everyone knows it’s loud and annoying, but did you know it can cover the same area as 15-20 patrol officers, and safely chase criminals that are driving 90 MPH through city streets. Many times the guy has no idea it’s there and slows down.

Your 5 year old kid getting pushed down by another 5 year old kid is NOT a police matter; talk to the other kid’s parents, not the police.

If your kid won’t do his homework or do his chores, 911 is not the answer for a uniformed parent.

Police work is...writing reports.

If you rob a gas station you’re only going to get $20, but I get to see a K-9 dog use your arm as a chew toy. For all I care you can keep the $20.

In 1 year of patrol work in a large city only about 10 minutes would be cool enough to be on the television show! COPS. But if COPS was about report writing and accident reports each show would be a year long.

Every traffic stop could end in gunfire, but we have to be polite and professional until that time.

I’ve taken about the same amount of men and women to jail for domestic violence, so NO, it’s not always the man.

People love firefighters. (God made policeman so firefighters could have heros too)

If you find crack pipes in the ladies purse, there is a good chance they belong to her.

If the light was yellow, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Cops know you pay taxes and that your taxes pay cops’ salaries. Cops also pay taxes, which also pay cops’ salaries so, hey, this traffic stop is on me. Now sign here, press hard; there are five copies.

Yes I read that post too.
20 out of 40 traffic stops resulted in arrests for more serious charges.
No wonder speed limits are underposted.
Traffic stops are a great tool for law enforcement.
It looks like even the threat of arrest isn't enough for some people to drive within the law.
But then criminals are mostly stupid.

Cops would rather sit behind that building down my street catching the speeding teenagers coming out of high school instead of being in downtown minneapolis catching the killers, speeders, drunk drivers, people in fights, and other bull:q:q:q:q like that

Then they want to bitch they aren't getting paid enough?

:q:q:q:q you

Yeah, how DARE they not WANT to go put their lives on the line. Of course they are paid too much, as are our soldiers in Iraq!

Even let one go for doing 150+ on LSD.

Lake Shore Drive? Acid? WTF, mate?!

Mr Wiggl3s
My sister in law is a staff sarge for the first precinct Mpls you have no idea what the police do.
First off the budget cuts have slashed the cops off the streets... no cops = more crime.
PM me and I will get you a ride along in downtown MPLS I think you might change your mind on what the cops spend there time doing.

I can never understand the contempt that some people in the general public have for police. It's one of the most noble careers anyone can undertake, yet they get scorn from pissy-perpetual teenage types who feel the need to always resent "authority".

Yet- when there car is broken into, when there's a domestic dispute, or there's a funny noise in their home at night- they don't hesitate to call for help.

Car broken into, stolen, called the cops, then found on the streets
nobody charged with anything

people running around in my yards at 3am, cops on the streets, neighbors call cops
nobody charged with anything

some guy trying to break into my house, no cops called
nobody charged with anything

dont act like you know what the :q:q:q:q your talking about homie

So whats your point ?

I never said how bad it is if you read the post I was saying how there aren't enough cops.
You are the one that stated the cops are busting kids at highschool not working the downtown area.
If you don't like how many cops are working the downtown area get in touch with this a$$hat.

I don't think I would expect you to ticket your mom, or sibling or something but, in fairness, when I can flash my neice's business card and not get a ticket because she's an officer, that's just wrong. It's wrong that none of our family in IL gets ticketed just because "she" has a job.

Fact is, it's fair to recognize that we all get off sometimes but if police and their family commit highway offenses and, routinely, get away with it because of "connections", it breeds, by its very nature, a sense of entitlement to commit those offenses.

I would never suggest every offense committed by a police officer should be "cited". The same rules as apply to the public at large should apply to police. It is, further, specious to suggest that they are ONLY getting off without a ticket. When police, consistently, get breaks they also get a "discount" on insurance.

Sorry - I respect your feelings that police aren't respected but putting them above the law won't get you that respect (IMO).

Not that they can count on a response if they do call for help. Case law has determined that the police are not required by law to save your life.

I'll defend myself, thanks.

And as far as nobility, I know people personally who joined the force not because they wanted to serve the public, but because they wanted to carry a badge and a gun and be "the man." You can call that anecdotal all you want, but you don't know the motivation behind every single cop's decision to join the force any more than I do, so don't sit there and act like you do.

Sounds like a call for anarchy is that what you believe in fossten ?

Not that they can count on a response if they do call for help.
Police respond to a call by priority as the police force gets smaller the response follows suit.
If someone is getting shot while your having a domestic guess what... no cop for you.
As far as cops writing cops tickets from what I understand if your a MPLS cop and get pulled over is some suburbs your going to get a ticket some you wont.
It also depends what you get pulled over for.
Is it fair ?....I dont care.

I guess it all depends on where you are at.

The cops in Allentown do the jobs they are supposed to without stereo typing or prejudice. But on the other end of the line were it meets the Township next door the cops sit waiting right on the line for cars to instantly reduce the speeds from 45 to 25 and I live about a block or less into Allentown from that line so I see what goes on constantly if they dont see you hit the brakes your down and out of some cash. Thats all they really do and that town is known for its drunks and drugs. But yet those guys always get let go sooner or later into the day so they can do it again.

Its a cycle, I had cops do nothing for me in that town when I needed them to but in my home town, they can always be counted on.

And trust me, in some of the small towns across America those cops aren't writing up the partners they work next to, but some of the bigger Cities,.... maybe.

Let me get this straight. I express confidence in my ability to defend myself and you accuse me of fomenting anarchy? Either you are a Keith Olbermann wannabe or you are completely ignorant.

an·ar·chy (ăn'ər-kē)
n., pl. -chies.
Absence of any form of political authority.
Political disorder and confusion.
Absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose.

There is absolutely nothing in my statement that resembles a call for anarchy. You're playing the straw man game, and poorly. Not even a nice try.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchy
Anarchy (from Greek: ἀναρχία anarchía, "without ruler") may refer to any of the following:
"Absence of government; a state of lawlessness due to beliefs that people are inherently good and can organize themselves without government or bureaucracies; another type of political order."[1]

From your statement my understanding was call the cops no thanks I will take care of it myself.

That would be ah lets see.....not following a common standard LIKE CALLING THE COPS !

Thats were I get the Idea you promote Anarchy.

How does that make a Keith Olbermann wannabe ?

... And that's the attitude that breeds that lack of respect which "shouldn't" exist.

Lack of respect for what ?

What a piece of work you are. I would prefer to defend myself and exercise my rights, and you call me an anarchist? What planet are you on?

You are conflating the belief behind the lawlessness with the definition of anarchy, which isn't the same thing. Because I am self-reliant does not mean I am lawless. Sorry, that dog won't hunt. Your attempt to tie the two together is worse than Six Degrees To Kevin Bacon.

Oh, and good source, too, Wikipedia. Real solid cred there.

Show me where it says in ANY lawbook that the common standard in the event of, say, a break-in, is that I am required to call the cops for help. That doesn't mean I won't ever call the cops, it just means I won't bother waiting around for them to show up while some burglar kills me and rapes my wife. So this "common standard" you refer to...was just...MADE UP!

I guess you believe nobody should own guns except for the police, eh? You are nothing but a pathetic name caller.

The second part of your name is appropriate.
