I had the system pressure tested today and the mechanic said he could not find a leak in the system. He said it could be the fan relay but gen 2 fans dont have relays? I replaced the thermostat housing, degas bottle, thermostat, and bled the system, but still can not get the car to keep the correct temp any suggestions?

Replace the rest of the cooling system and bleed it over and over.

There are no fan relays.
Does the fan run?
Did you fill and bleed it exactly by the book?

You also need to replace the plastic pipe that comes up from the engine (water pump riser) and goes to the thermostat housing/coolant outlet pipe.
Your two main radiator hoses will fail soon too if they haven't already.

Sadly, a normal pressure test is not a definitive test on the LS. The plastic parts tend to have hairline cracks that expand with heat *and* pressure. The parts that break are very predictable, so a visual inspection for signs of leaks generally gets you in the right direction.

Yes, I had a problem with an o-ring on my 04. It would leak while driving, but I couldn't get it to leak while pressure testing, cold or hot.

Joe, The fan does run and I can turn it off by turning the heater on high...Do you have link to the parts on rockauto? Its an 05 LS with 106000+ miles

No, but you can look them up here:

Alternately, there are a few detailed posts with full part numbers on this site. Just search for them.

This is what I have in my cart so far...Anything else? Thanks.

I would certainly add

You may also need the intake manifold gaskets.

Update..
So I had all the parts installed above and the cooling has gotten way better but the fan still comes on temporarily at red lights, then turns off once I accelerate. I'm guessing from the extra air coming into the engine bay? Before the fan would stay on constantly unless I hop on the freeway... Any other parts I should replace

that sounds normal, when your not moving, your fan might need to come on to get air through the radiator, then once you begin to move and air can travel through the radiator by itself, the fan can shut off.

You could also connect an OBD reader and track the engine temp while driving. The fan should come on around 230, and hits panic around 239. So the PCM tries to keep the engine between 210 and 230 or so. If you're seeing sudden spikes way above that, then there's still an issue.
But if it's not overheating, then you probably have it fixed.

I had the same problem with mine but mine was leaking at the water pump weep hole. Another thing I noticed was a lot of trash in front of the radiator. I found a bag and some leaves. You cant really see it untill you remove the cover.
