Maybe an issue with structural integrity with the top missing. Like the Chevy Beretta convertible for example, too much body twist while cornering with the top missing. That's why they scrapped it. I would imagine it would have been the case for the Mark, an even bigger, heavier car.
^ Probably right. The Mark is pretty stiff, but it was designed right at the line. Heck, snap the X-Brace behind the rear seat and I bet you could feel the difference.
