Continental picture thread!

That's a sweet ride too -- old school class with all the modern technology under the skin. Even the wheels look like they belong; just subtle enough to make you look twice.

SYKOLINCOLN awesome looking car!

How long did it take you to make the modern drivetrain swap?

Its going to look killer when complete.

thanks guys!

heres a huge thread on my build to current....it will give you a evening to look over :)

I have "Limited" printed on my seats instead of the Lincoln emblem, does that mean any thing?

My 2001 Lincoln Continental, her name is Mary. I'm an audiophile and am always upgrading. My goals with the sound system is to sound as clear and clean as possible, yet still at the turn of a dial piss off the neighbors a mile away. :)

Nice conti ^^ do you have the led strips on the inside or outside of the headlight lens?

LED strips are on the outside, they are stuck on with 3M double sided automotive tape. That tape is da bomb diggity.
My HID kit died on me though, I decided to just go back to regular halogen with some Philips xtreme Vision headlights.

I will hopefully be installing retros this summer, I have $1150 in audio equipment to buy first and potentially a transmission rebuild though. Last rough estimate was in the neighborhood of $2700 for the rebuild.

Say, my seats are not in that condition, but I'd LOVE to know what product(s) you used & some further information on the cleaning/restoring your seats...is that possible? Looks to be an awesome job you did. And let me ask, is the "fix" s/thing that will be fairly permanent do you think, or will they look like the dickens in no time at all?

Thx

A simple, easy mod that can be done on these cars is to replace the front blinkers with switchback LEDs, really cleans up the headlights in my opinion. They don't have that orange appearance when the bulb isn't on. They do require load resistors in order to interface with the CAN BUS system properly.

They switch from white to amber when you turn the blinkers on. I don't have a picture of it but I love the effect.

Hey Gearhead those are some badass looking headlights on your 98 Cont. I've never heard of Morimoto lighting kits until now. What website did you buy yours on and did you buy yours as one complete kit or did you purchase the ballasts and bulbs seperately? Do you know what model number your Morimoto bi-xenon bulbs are? Also how tough is it to install those projector beams in the headlamp housing, did you have to drill a hole in the reflectors?

I just bought a black 01 Continental (I have some photos of it posted in the Welcome Wagon forum) and would really like to upgrade my headlamps from stock halogen bulbs to HID xenon. The Morimoto HID kit that you have looks to be one of the best HID lighting systems out there.

here is my 98. has a recently swapped engine/trans out of an 01. oh, and morimoto bi-xenon retrofitted headlights :)

havent even really had time to clean the engine since the install

There's only one place to buy them: http://www.theretrofitsource.com Click on "complete retrofit kits" at the top.

The $280 kit is the closest to plug and play that any projector conversion can be. It will need very minor trimming. I still haven't bought one but it's in the plans!

I played with plastidip a little bit, jazzed up the boring black front license plate holder and the lincoln logo as the red was starting to fade to silver

I'm going to try stripping my emblem and repainting it like the LS owners do. It's just paint on the back side of the clear plastic, and the Lincoln star is chrome so you can strip the paint without harming it. That also means you can change the background color from red to something else.

Where did you get the black emblem? Also is it easy to swap the steering wheel? Im also looking for a wood wheel with those controls in the wheel
