So i was hoping someone here might be able to give me an idea how to take apart the the center console in my aviator. All i need to take off is the area by the window switched and ashtray.

I've taken my whole interior out to re-dye the carpet from tan to black... It wasen't that big a deal. Unfortunetly it was a long time ago so I can't offer too much advise.
I remember the main fastners holding the thing in place are in the rear behind small flaps. There are also a ton of wiring going to the console but it's mostly connected at one junction point that is held tight by a bolt. At the front of the console are panels which are held on by clips. Once you remove those you will get an idea of what other fastners need to be removed toward the front.
