The same dealer i got my past two LS's from now has a '05 Navigator Ultimate with every option included flip down DVD which i'm sure my son will love, only 39k miles and still under factory warranty. Anyone on here own a Navigator that could give any advice?

Also wanted to check the Carfax report, if anyone has an account i'd like to take a look at the report before i even begin to negotiate a deal. PM me and i'll get you the VIN. Thanks

P.S. I would be posting this over in the Navigator forum but that thing is dead...only a few posts within the past month or so.

Ask the dealer for it. They should be glad to, since that generally means you're interested in the car, and they'll have a chance at selling it. Plus you've already bought 2 cars from there? "Repeat customer". If they're not glad to see you coming back then something's wrong with them.

Yeah they should have the carfax report, where i bought my car at Ford, i asked and they gave it to me.

I am sure they will provide one but i was hoping to catch any problems (i.e. flood, accident, lemon) before i even pull onto the lot. I love my LS and wouldnt even consider anything other than a perfect record on the Navigator. Anything negative and i wont even waste mine or their time.

First off - CarFax isn't the bible. Their information is only as good as the people that report stuff. My 95 LSC that is now my old man's was hit hard in the back at some point. CarFax came back with no accidents. I know of a few other people who have run into the same.

Second - if you're gonna drop the coin on a Gator, splurge the 20 bucks for a CarFax account.

Same here. CarFax didn't report my LS was in a major side impact. I found that out from every dealership I tried to trade it into.

The 05's are nice. The new ones look like ass.

these accidents you guys speak of that were not on the carfax reports...were these accidents that were reported to the police and/or insurance companies?

Well that'd kind of hard to know since it was before we owned them and that's not something a previous owner usually comes outright and says to the new owner.

I know that carfax only picks up on stuff when a police report is filed or insurance is contacted but it is possible for people to pay for damages out of pocket.

This is true. I know both front and rear bumpers on mine had been replaced prior to my ownership of the car. But the Carfax came up clean. Lucky for me I know the signs to look for in a car that's been badly wrecked, and found nothing that would make me suspect it had been repaired except for the bumpers.

You should buy the navi. I like both of my lincolns :)

If anything I guess now would be the time to purchase for optimal value. Gas is steadily dropping, but right now it's still high and they're giving away SUV's. I saw like an 04-05 Durango Hemi for like 10k, 50k miles the other day.

If the new navi is good, I would hit it :). Yea, I had one of my cars in an accident, filed reports but did not show on the CF.

Vehicles that are from self insured owners(fleet-car rental-business) will not show on Car Fax.

So here's an interesting twist to this deal. I was only offered $8k trade for my '05 LS Ultimate which has every option except Navi. Its in perfect condition, new tires, matching fifth chrome wheel w/new tire, as good of a trade as they could get. Apparently V8 sedans arent getting much in resale therefore not getting much as a trade. Also the finance company wont do 100% financing on the Navigator, again the reason seems to be dropping values on big SUV's. I told the guy i just bought a house with 0% down and your telling me i cant buy a car with 0%?

So like i said before, i love my LS and unless the deal went thru perfectly i would forget about the Navigator, which is pretty much the deal. Makes me appreciate and love my LS that much more seeing it was really close to being gone.
