what is meant by having a dealer "flash" a code? am having drivability issues (very touchy throttle). car is still under warranty (05 v/6 ls)

The programs that control the LS have been up dated over the years for things like Transmission and throttle, the dealer will be able to tell if yours is up to date and if not "flash" current version.

There is a memory chip in the computer which can be erased and programmed with new parameters that control the engine and transmission. The process is called "flashing".

The mechanic working on your LS will flash his genetalia at your computer, scaring it to work properly.

You may want to consider a new mechanic unless that ads 50hp and knocks off 5 second on 1/4 mile.
