Where do you add transmission fluid to a 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L se? I cant find it in the manual, its my wifes car.

I must've effed something up bad. I drained her oil via the drain plug on bottom of oil pan. Closed plug. Then opened the filter cartridge to replace the filter, which is directly under the transmission. Then I added the 4.5 qts of oil.

I went to work and left my phone in the break room charging. When i get back to break room I see 800 missed calls. About her car not working and white smoke coming from exhaust.

I assumed it was too much oil. So I get home, check the oil, and theres wayyyy too much on the dipstick so i drain a good amount. Then I go to start it and put it in gear, it goes nowhere. So I check transmission fluid and its bone dry.

I dont know where to add the fluid to fill it up.

If she drove it devoid of fluid it's probably too late.......

Does anyone know where you add the fluid to the transmission? I can't find it online or in her manual.

Look for a yellow-topped dipstick, like the oil. I will see what I can find.......

Thanks, please help asap. I got this dipstick that days ATF MV, which I assume means auto trans fluid. But do you add fluid to where the dipstick goes.. ?

My phone number is.616-594-4001. I need urgent help anyone please. Wife chewing my ass and dont know wtf i did wrong in this oil change.

Found out what I did wrong. Hopefully it's not as costly as it could potentially be. I'm an idiot.

On every car that I have had that had a transmission dip stick, you added the fluid where the dip stick goes.

Also, always, always check the engine oil level via the dip stick (if your car has one) after you complete the oil change.

I was in a hurry to change my wife's oil before I had to work. My dumb ass drained the tranny, plugged it back up. Changed the oil filter, plugged it back up. And added 4.5 qts new oil.

Ultimately resulting in a Ford Fusion driving with 8 qts of oil and no tranny fluid. I suppose it would have been easier to spot my mistake if the tranny didn't hold 7 qts of fluid.

Anyhow, ordered the tranny fluid. Will put new tranny fluid in tomorrow morning as well as the pil and filter.

To top the day off, im currently on the side of the road cuz my lincoln just started getting warm. I pray its just an air pocket, gonna try to rebleed it tomorrow. Just strange that I've driven it since I finished the cooling system without any overheating.

Sorry about your luck Soul, hope you get things straightened out over the weekend.
