Does anyone have good or bad to say regarding the Dorman degas bottle---603-207? I've tried to go over the threads available here, and I'm sure I saw something at one time, but I can't find it, and I'm not sure if the comment was good or bad. (At just under 150K miles, mine's started to leak!)

Thanks for your help!!

The threads strip on the bottle easily. Go with Motorcraft

^ +1 on that, wish I would have got the motorcraft one also. The first one I got from them the cap would not screw on at all. Now the new one I got I have to be careful when putting the cap on because sometimes it wont line up right and it will mess up the threads.

i replaced mine with that one (dorman), had no problems ever since
i replaced like 3 months ago. but you have to be careful while installing it because its a lot more delicate.

I have a dorman with no issues, I also have a brand new dorman for sale that has a repaired mounting tab (shipped broke but fixed it)

LOL dorman looks thinner than the OEM, and the first one i ordered came with a broken hose tab from shipment too. but i havent had any issues with it so i do recommend dorman degas bottle

I bought the dorman one as well, same issue the threads on the bottle were messed up, had to send it back and get a new one, so then my wife takes the new out of the box and drops and snaps the off tab. Returned once again and installed the new one and no issues.

Do you guys think you all got my returns from Rock Auto?

i got this and i regret it, the cap does not go in like it supposed to and the plastic is thinner, buy oem, also the cap is not the same size of the oem and if your cap gets busted like mines did then you just cant order a LS cap from the dealer you have to go to autozone and try the other caps until you find i new one that fits. also rock auto no longer sells them to many returns since i called them and had the same issue and needed a return they offered me a full refund of the part, when i get my oem in i will send it in for a full refund. BUY OEM

I had a new OEM and a Dorman side-by-side due to a misorder. The Dorman is obviously a thinner plastic. I don't know if that's good or bad, but was noteworthy.

I have the Dorman as well and I agree with everyone else, the plastic is thinner and you have to be careful on screwing on the cap. Mine has been problem free though.

To all of you---

Thanx for your input. The dealer parts-counter replacement goes for about $150, with a discount it's $120+. And we're talking about something that's not madly different from a gallon milk-jug.

If I can get something to keep me going, I'll research what it takes to create a replacement in aluminum or stainless.

Stihlboy, I welcome your help!!
