Well, I am taking this chance to first introduce myself and secondly to ask some important (to me) questions about my LS.

My Name is BenI am 26, live in a small town in Iowa. I have forever been in love with Cadillacs and recently fell head over heels for Lincolns. I have had several cadillacs one Lincoln and a few that shall remain nameless.

77 Eldorado
76 Sedan Deville (miss that one! had 28,000 original)
80something deville limo (6 door)
96 STS

Currently I own a 03 LS and although I liked the Caddys, I love the Lincoln.

On to my question... I purchased my Lincoln (used) I am the second owner. I owned it for a total of 3 months when I got into some trouble and had to put it away for 2 years, yes you read that right. It was stored in a climate controlled 70 degree building for those two years and was started regularly taken out and driven not so regularly.

Well it will be back on the road Friday. Is there anything other than Oil/filter change that I should do, do I even need to do that? ANY help would be appreciated as this is kind of new territory for me, I have never had to think/worry about this.

I would consider removing the fuel, at least as much as possible. Then adding a quality fuel additive and filling the tank with new fuel.

2 for fuel system, what kind of an additive an injector cleaner? Can you tell that I am pretty ignorant in this area? LOL.

Would Sea Foam be something like what you are talking about I have CASES of that stuff.

technically, the oil should have been changed before storage. There can be some pretty hash acids and other chemicals in used oil that *could* damage things if left that long. I guess when it comes to oil changes, I usually err on the side of caution. An oil change is a pretty small price to pay for peace of mind and a really small price to pay for an oil related engine problem!

I would do the fuel additive thing mentioned above. Obviously check all the fluids and make sure they're topped off. The tires may be flat-spotted, but those will work out after a few miles.

What kind of "trouble" separates an owner from his LS for two years? Were you on the lam? Hiding from the mob? Witness protection program?

A dui or dwi could do that as well. None of our business.

I am sure that the opinion of what additive to use is as broad as what engine oil is the best, but I will ask anyway. LOL, SO, what additive would you recommend I assume I am just looking for a detergent type that would clean the injectors fuel system.

And for the inquiring minds, in Iowa they are called OWI's.... (STUPID, and YES I learned a lot from it so please do not tell me how dumb I am)
