I went to take a look at this car today and I think I am going to pass on it. Even tho it is not easy for me to pass on a CE, especually when it is less than 10mi from my house. Anyway, I thought some of you guys might be putting in offers on it, and I have some info that might help you decide.

The good:

2 owner car
124k mi
heated seats
sunroof
orig CE mats
#599
Woodgrain steering wheel and shift knob in excellent condition
Sony head unit
2 Kenwood 10's
runs and drives real good
decent tires, not great, but decent, about 50%
no signs of accidents
hid's work
Comes with extra HID housing and Bulb

The bad:

headlights are very cloudy, need wetsanded and buffed
needs a HID bulb
chrome peeling on wheels
needs a blend door
drivers side heated seat doesnt work
rear neon broken
cup holder broken
needs a little paint on the drivers side 1/4
The car looks alot worse in person than in the pics

Like I said, Im going to pass, but here is some info that might help you if your interested (Lincoln Lurker)

looks like a nice car to me If I had money I might make an low ball offer to see what happens the only hard work looks like the blend door

by the way the owner told me what he would take for it, so if anyone is interested in that price pm me.

That car is nearly identical to mine, and has 25k more miles on it, mine had a lot less problems too.

Mine had;

Paint Defects
Peeling Wheels
Broken Cupholder

Up here it will Jamie...

Finding a Mark in the north that is half assed decent is very very hard, and they cost a wee bit.

It says it went for $3700 and I dont think thats a bad deal not great but not too bad, depending on whats wrong with the neon

3700 isnt a bad price if only the neon had a problem but there was a pretty decent list of problems in the begining of this thread, and they are all very expensive problems too, good luck to the owner, decent car, but he'll cry when he starts pricing the used parts he needs!

I know its too late now, but i rememberd it had a nasty valvetrain noise, and timing chain rattle on startup.

The problems with the neon were 1. it didnt work, and 2. someone had taken it out at one point and when they put it back in they tightened it down to tightly and broke the backside of the housing.

The owners other cars were pretty bad ass, it made the CE look like it was a POS. The funny part is the owner didnt know there was anything special about the car.

His other cars were an 06 navi (wifes car)
04 z06 completely blacked out 535rwhp < Badd machine

I am very jelious.

Good luck to the new owner. Maybe he'll be stopping in to say hello.

the blend door is only cheap if you can do it yourself, the average dealer cost on that job is $600+ thats cheap?

needs a HID bulb- $ 100+
chrome peeling on wheels- $400 new set of used wheels
needs a blend door- anywhere from $50 bucks to $600+
drivers side heated seat doesnt work-good luck finding an element
rear neon broken- anywhere from $90 to who knows
cup holder broken- average cup holder non broken $200
needs a little paint on the drivers side 1/4- paint work on a single panel figure $200 minimum.
that car doesnt sound so good anymore does it lol!

oh yeah sure, i can get the blend door assembly for $36 bucks my cost, i have done a dozen of them since my first one in 2000, but if you add up the average cost of the stuff chris saw wrong with it, not to mention what he couldnt see, there was easily over 1500 bucks worth of repairs needed, so at 4000 that wouldnt have been much of a deal, even at 3700 its still border line, if the car had 60k on it and sold for 3700 with the needed repairs then maybe you could get that back after it was all fixed. in my opinion, the C.E isnt any more desirable than a base or lsc unless its mint, and there are only a handful of mint ones left in the states. the only real thing making the C.E different is the wood grain, 2 tone interior, and some gold leaf that you can almost never find on the C.E's anymore because of how poorly it was put on the door panels, you touch it and it wipes off. to me the C.E is just another mark VIII with a wood steering wheel and shifter knob. i'm not knocking it i love them, but is the car really worth much more than any other gen 2, not really.

It is kind of kool owning one of the rarer Marks that there is!

Did you know they made less "silver 98 lsc's" than they did collectors editions?
Just an FYI...

now watch the prices of the Silver 98 LSC's skyrocket!
(lol)
my bad.

Take all my glory away from owning a CE... bastard

Should we all praise Chicken now?

The best part of owning a CE is knowing that you have the last of Best!

actually the last of the best were the spring features, they were the very last 117 mark VIII's to roll off the assembly line before lincoln shut down production on the mark's. so if you want really rare, buy one of them, there is currently one on ebay!!

Those are the last of the Ugliest! They are not nice to look at. Those look like Lincoln had some left over paint from the Gold Continentals that year!Lincoln should have chosen a better color.

the color is ugly i agree, the paint was actually a color that was just about to be sprayed on the 99 town cars, so they shot the last marks with it first. i had a spring feature lsc its even uglier in person!!
