So yesterday it was 15° after being 65° on Sunday here in Northwest AR. I am leaving work at around 7pm and the car cranks a little longer than normal. Starts up and I let it run for about 30 seconds while freezing my balls on my non-heated seats.
I put it in R and the revs drop down below 500rpm the car shakes a little and there is a funny noise from under the hood. Sounds kinda like knocking. I dropped it to N and the rpm came back up and the knock left. Let it sit for another 30 seconds or so and put it in R again. Same shudder as the first time but I rev'ed a little and it was fine above 1k rpm but each time dropped down under 500. I began to drive a little in the parking lot and it still shuddered like it was going to die at idle but ran fine once I gave it some gas.
This is the coldest it has been yet this year. I am guessing the engine just didnt like the cold cause it ran fine after it heated up. Any ideas/input?
I will definately let it run a bit before driving to Tulsa later today. Luckily it is in the 20's today and getting warmer tomorrow. I hate the cold!
