Hey I was going to replace all of mine, wanted to use a good after market brand. Has anyone done this yet? What brand did you use?

It has been done by 1 or 2 members, you might want to look at the TECH ARTICLES at the top of the page next to SEARCH.

Have only done the first two to my old 01LS. Visteon COPs and AutoLite XP plugs.

I replaced all of them and used oem motorcraft coils and the plugs came from Napa, I forget the exact name but they were in an orange box and the only brand they recommended for the LS and did the vcg at the same time. The plugs were 9 a piece, Lincoln wanted 11 a piece for their plugs.

I was thinking the spark plug wires

hoping it would add some performance or at least help my engine run better

Go to NAPA and get their Ecklin? Echlin? something like that coils. Lifetime warranty, so if they do crap out again, its free replacement.

I got NGK G-Power plugs, $3 a piece, platinums instead of the normal motorcraft plugs.

how much were these coils? i'm trying to find which to buy and may end up getting some ebay ones.

I replaced my plugs and coils about 2 months ago. I got oem plugs and coils from world-autoparts on ebay. so far so good

I got mine next day because they had to be ordered in from the cities to where my uncles NAPA is about 45 mins north of me. They are about $64 retail. Still cheaper than any other coil I've found, and it has a warranty you can take IN store, no shipping costs and BS to deal with.

think i'll just go for some ebay coils since they are only about $18 a piece. Anyone know if any of the sellers are any better then the others

Damn!!!! We got our first hard freeze up here in MT and the cold/rain turned a slight miss at idle into a hard miss at idle and stumble off idle acceleration.... I'm guessing coils

After reading/researching the forum until my eyes were bleeding, I figure I'll tackle it myself. Max at Five Star had the best price I could find other than flebay, our area Napa wanted $62 and only had 5 in stock with a 5 day wait for the others, the stealership wanted $98 (at jobber rate), etc...

Coils $46 per, VCG $45 per and I'll probably use NGK G-Power plugs

I guess I need a second "spare" daily driver, the vortec in my 70 C-10 fragged the converter on a camping trip and sent shrapnel through the transmission, my 52 hardtop has been moved to the storage bay (never to be seen until spring) and the 32 hasn't made it past a pile of parts. I can't remember when I was down 3 vehicles at once.... must be a lesson in there somewhere.

Go ahead and replace more stuff

got my coils off ebay cheap, autolight plugs platinum.

while you're replacing the coils and you must remove the intake manifold, go ahead and replace the PCV valve and hoses(2), and valve cover gaskets(2) and lower and upper manifold gaskets(2).

You may find oil in the back two spark plug wells. good luck

I have the V8, I thought it was the V6 that required the intake removal?

I'll have to re-read it.

No need (or advantage to doing) to remove the intake on the V8. Also, the V8 doesn't have a PCV valve.
