I have a 2001 v8. I keep blowing the 10 amp cop fuse. I've also burn up 3 igniti coils. Cylinder1,4,5. Coils are aprox. 5 months old. New fuel injector s. New fuel pump. I replaced #4 coil and immediately fried coil very hot to the touch. Checked cop relay and was also good. Also battery is 1 month old. (coils are in spec on primary res. And nothing on secondary res). WHERE SHOULD I LOOK NEXT?

Sounds like you have intermittent shorts in the COP wiring harness. See if it's being pinched or rubbed somewhere. Are you using OEM coils? Your PCM could be failing. Resistance measurement of the coils is almost completely useless for these. The most common failures of these coils won't show up there.

They are not oem coils. The set i bought months ago are standard. Tried an duralast today and failed. I glanced over the wiring harness and i didnt see anything yet.

Are you changing your spark plugs when you change the COP? A bad plug can cause the COP to go bad. If you did change the plug and that COP goes bad, that plug could also have gone bad. So then when you replace the COP and you think you have a good plug in there, the plug is bad and causes the new COP to fail. When you finally get tired of chasing COPs you will change all COPs and plugs at the same time. It does sound like you have wiring issues too, with the blown fuses

Yes I did change plugs when I changed coils with ngk spark plugs. What would be resistance factor on the connecter for the coil?
