ok, I searched and didn't really get the answer i needed but here it goes.

I think im losing a coil, I have a miss under acceleration (mostly) and I assume its a coil. somtimes it runs fine, somtimes it misses a little and sometimes it misses alot...lol

it does it at idle rarely...it never does it when cold.

I have flows so my exhaust is kinda loud. the miss is much louder in the left pipe than the right, so I guess its on the left bank.

How can I figure out which coil it is? no cel and i've used a infared temp gauge to test manifold temps but with it being intermittant, the temps are pretty consistant.

with it being so close to xmas, Id rather replace the bad one, and buy my son cars, trains, and candy canes...after the first of the year, ill replace all 8 but for now....any help??

they are programs that can help identify a mis-fire even if it's under the threshold that would trip the CEL. Autotap, Autoenginuity are two that I have used - but each run $200 (which is more than all 8 coils).

Other than swapping one and moving it until fixed.... I don't know of another way.

I see them on this site for 43 a piece..thats 344$

you know where they are cheaper?

I got a 02 v8 found em on ebay all 8 $157 with shipping. Got em about 3 weeks ago. ADautoparts was the seller I believe.

I needed coils for my last LS, and decided to try the ebay route. Took almost 3 weeks for the parts to show up, and the seller (globalautomotive) never responded to any questions or phone calls or e-mails. I ended up going to Teamford. IMO the extra money was worth it to have the parts almost ASAP and not deal with the hassle of a jerkoff ebay seller.
