Hey what's up guys, got a 2002 LS V8. I read a few threads that was stateing the covers was needed to keep moisture out. So I started thinking, condensation will build up any place be it covered or not, then I thought water have reduced mountains to small terrains, what makes these coil covers any different. So for the past 6 months, I have been running with the covers off, and through heavy rain and more I haven't had any problems. ( that's just me I don't know for anyone else), I'm thinking the covers is part of the cause besides the failing gaskets for the coil failure, was thinking about creating some type of air flow tube, or vacuum that would either blow cool air over the coils, or take hot air away from the coils. Maybe if the temp is better controlled, in the coil wells it would help keep them from a internal break down, do to the excessive heat in the coil well.
Just my opinion. What do you guys think?
