I have a 2000 ls v-8 with the engine light on the car overheated and fixed that problem and now the sensor shows up. Do I need to replace the sensor, and if so where is it located?
P1299 is just an indication that failsafe cooling was triggered due to the engine overheating. It is not a code that says that any sensor or anything else needs to be replaced. It's just letting you know that it happened.
