so i finished swapping a cobra intake onto my 96 mark 8 today. i fired up the car for the first time in 3 months and it started right up on the first try.. it ran a little rough becasue it still needs a tune but over all it was doing great. i lett it run for a little while and after 5-10 mins it started to have problems. there is a wierd knocking coming form the intake area it seems almost like a mini back fire but idk what it is any ideas? it is not all the time and it seems to be random and speratic so im at a loss. also i started and stoped it a few times and it fired up fine but then it started to run even rougher and now it wont fire up at all :/...i disconnected the battery let it sit and tryed again but it did not help.. has anyone else had this problem......also idk if this is relivent but i put in 30 pound fuel injectors, got rid of the IMRC and EGR systems.... any advice would be useful

Yes, the engine is flooded. No need for those 30lb injectors. Remove them and slap the 24lbs back in and run it like that till it can be tuned for the 30's..... which are not needed. Dry out the spark plugs and you should be fine. The deleted IMRC with no tune will also cause issues cause you are using all 16 intake valves at idle instead of the 8 the motor was tuned and designed for.

thanks i might try that.... the car is going to be trailered to the dyno so i dont really want to swap all that crap out if i can avoid it...any ideas on the wierd nosie i think it might be fixable with the tune but i dont want to go all the way out there just to be told ther is somthing mechanically wrong with the car and have to turn around.
