Climate Control Replacement. Need programming?

After an attempted radio theft, Im going to need to replace my climate control unit on my 2002 LS V8 that was ripped out/ribbon cable torn off the back of the faceplate section. Will a replacement off of ebay just plug right in, or does the dealership have to perform a flash/code for the replacement? Thanks.

AFAIK, a used one from a very similar car should not require reprogramming. I would try to get one from a 2002 V8 to be on the safe side.
