Does anybody have this on there LS? I was thinking about getting it but i dont know If I should get this or the Viper 5900? And how much did it run you to have the Clifford Installed?

they are all made by DEI, and that is all that matters.
the 5900 is the 1 mile replacement to the 791 - 98.2% the same except longer range,a couple of extra channels and comfort closure (will roll up the windows when locked). the Avantguard's are usually a little over kill with extra engine kill and sensors. but as stated above the quality of the install is the most important part of any alarm R\S system.

instead of the 5900 check out the 5901, it goes on sale in about a month or so, the remote is way smaller and super thin and the immobilzer module (xk400) goes inside the alarm brain so the install is easier and way cleaner. check it out!
who ever does the install make sure they tap into the lock and unlock wires at the DDM and also run extra channels to lock and unlock so you can have the system roll up or down the windows from the remote with out having to buy the window module!

I have the Viper 791 as well on my car. I love it. The only thing is I think when they installed they got the sensor or something turned up to high because the alarm will just go off by itself when I arm the car. It's been doing that for three years and they tried to tell me it was a dead cell in my battery that was causing it. Changed the battery at the beginning of the year and the same thing. I'm eventually going to have it looked at. Check this site out for some good prices. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm...fg_account_ID=115&sort=name&=Update+Selection

Why not drop your under dash panel and turn it down yourself?

+1 only you will know how sensitive you want it. it should be very easy to find, its a little clear box about a 1.5 inches long and about 1 inch thick and it will have a red led in it that will stay lit for about 2 sec when it receives a shock( just slap the side of the dask with your palm to make it light up to find it) there will be a small hole on one of the sides, just stick a small flat head screwdriver and turn it slightly counter clockwise till it is set how you want it. test it by slapping the A piller lightly if the module blinks real quick, that is the warn away if it stays on for a couple of sec, that is the full alarm.

Viper 5900 650.99 w/install or Clifford Matrix 50.5X w/install 500$ which of the 2 is the better alarm? I have no idea?

Yea i check it, but most places always tell me that they will only install the alarms they already have, i am going 2 look at soem more places 2morrow

they are the same system, just 2 of DEI's companies, the only differance is the clifford system has a 4 button LCD sst remote that is carbonfiber (not real) color and the viper system has a 4 button LCD sst remote that is "viper" blue, the only difference is the color of the remote (they are even the exact same size, shape, and the same LCD screen)

^^^^ thanx, All the shops that i called up in this area for those 2 alarms gave me prices in the 600$(Some crime guard brand alarm), 700$ and 1 shop even said 800$ and all the prices were after i added the tilt and glass sensor, for both of those alarms, the cheapest 1 I found was 600$ from a different shop from above, he said he wouldn't charge me more than that and that he would work with me on the price for the viper 5900. Are these prices reasonable or am I getting ripped off?

cool, preciate it, i am going 2 have the viper 5900 installed 2morrow, thanx 2 everybody who helped me out i appreciate it

like i said before, you want to make sure they grab the lock and unlock wires at the DDM (a lot of shop wont like to do this because it takes longer to run wires into the drivers door) that way the comfort closure feature will work, and there are extra channels on the system, have them run two extra channels into the DDM onto the lock and unlock wires and have them set the channels to "timed output", 30 seconds should do it. then you can roll up or roll down your windows with the push of a button on the remote.
