Clear bumper lights trouble

Ok just received the clear bumper lights .. Tired to put the drivers side on, it wont seem to fit, the side with the long piece goes in but the light wont stick out far enough for the light to fit right.

anyone experience this issue? I don't want to break anything so i dont put much force ..
