has anyone ever cleaned their IAC valve or know about cleaning it. my car has been idling low at stoplights and is hard to start, just recently replaced spark plugs. 2002 ls v8
Normally the IAC will make a whining noise when dirty/failing. Here is a post on doing it on an Explorer, not the same I realize, but the concepts are all the same >> http://www.explorer4x4.com/iac.htm
I will likely be flamed for recommending the same thing over in two seperate threads after finding it as the resolution to my own issue, but here goes. Low/rough idle could be EGR valve issues. If the EGR valve isn't closing and is allowing exhaust gasses to enter the combustion cycle during idle, it will cause many idle issues.
Only reason I bring it up is because I've found the LS isn't the greatest at properly reporting EGR issues and the symptoms fit.
