I have been through several posts here, read plenty on the causes of an overheating 2003 LS V8 so I am going through every possibility. I just have one question I was hoping someone could shed some light...

I am attempting to bleed my cooling system as I have recently replace the radiator hose assembly. I now need to bleed the cooling system. The heater air bleed tube besides my overflow tank has a plastic tip that has a groove for what looks to be used with a flat head screwdriver. Excuse my ignorance here but is the plastic supposed to come out of the rubber tube to bleed or is there a special rotation that lets out the entrapped air?

You have to completely remove the plastic screw.
Be careful not to over-tighten it when you put it back in.

Turns out the plastic screw was spinning infinitely and would never come out... I carefully pulled out the entire screw and realized later that there was a thin nut on the end of the plastic screw that was frozen tight and was spinning with the screw. I was now able to correctly bleed my system. Thank you guys so much!
