Ok Car is 2002, My issue is fuse keeps blowning for the lighter that is where the ash tray is (fuse 32 on passenager side). Try to plug my Iphone charger in there, but the oddest thing the one on the back of console where heat vents are still works, does that use a different fuse. It must but found nothing in the manual?

Pull the assembly out and check if the wires are stripped.

Might be causing a short between the leads.

i plugged in my phone charger once and it blew the fuse for the rear tail light lol

I know on the 2nd gen there is a warning not to plug in anything other than the lighter, and use the auxiliary power ports for everything else, if you have them on the 1st gen, I don't know.

From the manual...
10 20A* Powerpoint

(That's the fuse box in the trunk.)

It's not unheard of for cigarette lighter sockets to short out. Unplug the wire from behind the lighter socket and replace the fuse. If the fuse doesn't blow, then you know it is the socket that you need to replace.

ok i guess i have to have a look at it i know since i have own the car alittle over a year now. The lighter itself is still brand new for it doesn't even have a heat mark on it. So i will have to disconnect it like joger says and put a fuse in it and see what happens. Not only that the fuse was also blown before i even tried so thats probally why it was never used?
