I currently have my headlights off my car for a restore. My driver light assembly was busted. I need to replace the turn signal bulb in the driver side, so I'm just going to replace both of them.

I have a Gen II with the amber still inside the assembly.

My question is, How will the chrome (stealth) bulbs look with the amber still inside? I'm not going to touch the amber or the led lights behind the amber.

Since you'll still see the amber inside the light would it be pointless for the stealth bulbs?

Not necessarily pointless, I've enjoyed mine. Just a little something to get rid of the yolk in your headlight assy.

I like the look and I still have the amber on the inside still.

From straight on the amber disappears, because the bulb is chrome, from the side you see the amber reflector.

I bought the set in the link I posted, I believe the LS uses 3157 in the front turn signals, it has been over a year ago though. Any bulb guide will tell you what is compatible.

Does anyone know if DDM carries the chrome bulb for the Gen2 taillights? I tried searching by car on there, but I don't see Lincoln listed. I want to do this for my tails as I hate seeing the amber bulb through the clear part of my taillights.

Bulbs for the rear turn indicators.

The bulbs for 03 are the same as 04/05/06 correct? On the auction page it says they only fit 04/05/06 so I sent them a message asking about 03 since it should be the same & this is the response I got:

Dear dennisjr1,

Thank you for your message. The data that is available to us only shows that these bulbs will work for the years listed. That does not mean that they will not work for your vehicle, but we just do not have that data at this time. I'm sorry that we could not be of further assistance.

I just put red led's in my rear clear turn signals. I like the red way better than amber. Even if they were amber I like the led style way better than the filament. When I unlock the car its more on/off instead of a slower illumination and fade-away. Here are some pics. My original intentions were the tail/brake lights but when the lights were on they wouldn't get an brighter when the brakes were applied.

I just noticed in that last picture the color difference between the top and bottom. Can't see it with the naked eye, must be the android or the angle.

Anyone know the answer to this? Am I correct that the 03 is the same as the 04/05/06 even though the seller doesn't know? I just don't want to buy them if for some odd reason they won't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

From the Sylvania web site:

2003 LS
Rear turn signal
3156
3156ST SilverStar: The brighter, whiter signal light. Up to 30% brighter light, up to 20% whiter light and up to 10% farther and wider.
3156LL SYLVANIA Long Life miniature bulbs perform twice as long as any standard miniature bulb. Designed for durability, lower maintenance and greater safety.

2004-2006 LS
Rear turn signal
3157A
3157NALL SYLVANIA Long Life miniature bulbs perform twice as long as any standard miniature bulb. Designed for durability, lower maintenance and greater safety.

I find this rather odd as the light assembly is the same. The 2000-2002 also show a 3156. Makes me think the 3156 and 3157 may be interchangeable.

edit

They look interchangeable to me.....

I have no idea why the extra filament. The bulb isn't a brake/turn combination. Makes me think Lincoln went to the 3157 for either brighter light, they wanted to consolidate their bulb requirements across their line or they had an abundance of 3157s laying around.

I can't comment on why they'd use a double filament if there isn't a combination, but I can say they both fit into the same housings. I was sold 3156's instead of 3157's, and the only the brake light would work. But it fit.

So as far as me using them for the turn signal bulb only they should fit & work on my car? I just want it for the look, but of course I need it to work when I put my signal on.
