I just want to put this out there. I got Ice and have put 1000 miles on her and no overheating. Only problem that bugged me was stalling/dieing out. I would be at stop light and car would like stumble and die. It would start right back up. It would also hiccup as soon as you would punch it and while cruzing it would hiccup. Not alot but 3-4 times a ride. I thought it might have been from the COP conversion but was thinking chip. I bought car that was suppose to have a "Jerry" chip. I found this. I was like WTF a "superchip" eck.

I pulled the 95 comp and put in a spare 93 without any chips. No more stalling but runs hotter. Mid gauge nothing crazy.

Then I pulled my other 93 comp with a Diablo chip and no stalling and runs cooler. (oh course with new fan schedule)

I will pull chip and put stock comp back in and see how she runs. I just might have to clean the comp chip contacts. This Superchip was bought in 2002 I bet.

I wonder if there was any corrosion on the contacts..I remember seeing pics of that car with a bunch of mold buildup on the seats..looks like it sat in a non climate controlled garage for 10 years, constantly fogging up the interior and getting moisture inside.

Hotter is better. Smokey wanted to build ceramic engines so he would not have to cool them.

Running hotter is usually a byproduct of more power with advanced timing.

Back when the '93 had a 4 way flip chip with stock, mild, wild and all-out track tunes, I could definitely see a difference on the highway with the running temperature depending which tune it was using. Of course this was a Gen1 with a more linear temperature gauge than the Gen2's have.

Way back when, I knew a guy with a wall full of demolition derby trophy's. He liked 292 Fords, I had one in a 55 Monarch back then, and he bored em' 80 thou over and then put them back together with stock parts. The car would barely run. The first thing he did in any competition was to smash his radiator into a useful victim. Then as time went by and everyone else started to limp about with various serious problems his motor would just run better and better. It ran normal at a nice deep red. He would just smash whatever was still running and win another one.

Just and update. It was hiccuping with all computers so I ruled that out. I threw some new autolite 764's to replace the 10 mile used autolite AR94's which I had from the red car. Car is prefect now. Sweet.

I have struggled with the AR plugs as well the cut back electrode makes them run like a much colder plug, ended up going back to standard coppers.
