Went to re-install my front bumper cover (had it resprayed) today, and noticed that both of my font side marker bulbs were burned out. I have no idea how long they've been that way. (bought the car new in December 2002). 12v 5w bulbs. These are the lights with the yellow lense built into the bumper cover, not the turn signal lights.

LOL. So did I. For at least a couple years. And the on board computer doesn't check those when you press "status" on the dash button, so unless you look, you'll never really know. You have to jack the car up and remove the plastic underpanel in order to reach up and get to the bulb assy for it. I guess you could possibly pry the lens out from the front of the car and try to change the bulb that way, but the way the lens snaps into the bumper cover, you run the risk of breaking the tab on the lens itself. Add to that, the wiring that goes to the bulb is fairly taught, and I dont know if there is enough room to even remove/re-install the twist assembly using this method. (from the front).

There's plenty of room to do it from the front of the bumper. That's the instructions given for swapping out for the clear side marker lenses. I've done it a couple times that way.

Good to know, Pektel. I wasn't sure since I've never tried that method.

I also didnt know one was burned out but it didnt matter because ive always hated the side markers so i just smoked them out black & took out the bulbs on both & left them like that. Made a huge difference!
